During his address, Hon Wale Raji disclosed that students resident in the community would heave a sigh of relief as the establishment of the iconic school would ameliorate their suffering in such a way that they wouldn’t have to trek or travel the risky long distances to other neighboring communities to exercise one of their fundamental human rights, education.

“Today’s event which marks the official commencement of academic activities in Temu Community High School is historically being the first public school in this town which is the fastest growing community in Epe Federal Constituency with a population close to 500,00. Before now, Junior Secondary School students from this town travel kilometers daily to neighboring towns for schooling. This daily commuting expose the young children to the risk of road accidents. With the opening of this school, the risk will be abated,” he said.

Wale Raji amplified one of the yearnings of the good people of Epe Federal constituency to the Lagos State Government in a Save Our Soul fashion when he appealed that pedestrian bridges and traffic lights should be considered to be constructed across the dualised major roads and traffic intersections for easy of travel and safety of lives.

“However, I wish to bring to the notice of the Lagos State Government the need for pedestrian bridges and traffic lights in different parts of Epe particularly Temu, T-junction, Itaopo and other densely populated areas. This is now necessary due to the dualization of all major roads in Epe which has since attracted high vehicular activities. This makes it difficult and risky for school students and other road users to cross these roads easily,” he said.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Hon Wale Raji acknowledged the unprecedented commitment and sacrifice of the leadership of Temu Community for not only demanding for the establishment of the school but also matching their words with action through the donation of the piece of with a substantial market value.

He further applauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on behalf of the good people of Epe federal constituency for touching lives through the construction of the Epe-Eleko road as well as the completion of the Maternal and Child Center, Epe General Hospital.

“I would like to appreciate Temu community leaders for their persistent demand for this school and their sacrifice of donating the land free of charge despite the increasing value of land in Temu community. It was this demand and sacrifice by the community to bring Education closer to their children that spur this development we are celebrating today”

“Let me also appreciate the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu for his commitment to the development of Epe which has seen him delivered the Epe–Eleko road, Mother and Child Centre at Epe General Hospital and other projects currently ongoing in different parts of Epe. I say a big thank you on behalf of my people,” he said.

Wale Raji specially appreciated the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, who was personally present in Temu when the community leaders dedicated the piece of land to construct the school a year earlier.

He also informed the gathering that the school building was one of the thirteen (13) lofty projects spread across various schools in Epe Federal Constituency which was commissioned by the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila earlier in March 2022 to bridge the infrastructural gap. This, he said, became necessary to support the effort of the Lagos State Government ably led by Governor Babajide Sanwoolu in developing the Educational sector of the state through the THEMES agenda.

While noting that the establishment of the school had increased the school population in Epe Divison from 27 to 28, Wale Raji seized the medium to applaud the Lagos State Government and the Ministry of Education through the Honorable Commissioner for Education, Mrs Adefisayo for fast tracking approval and operational commencement of academic activities in the school.

Speaking further, Wale Raji averred that his leadership has delivered the dividends of democracy to the good people of Epe federal constituency through the facilitation of projects that are on different stages of completion. These, he said, would directly impact the socio-economic development of the people with the entrenchment of communal prosperity. He added that:

“I have overtime restated my commitment to Education development because of it’s ability to break the yoke of ignorance, poverty and underdevelopment. Education also helps to create and equalize opportunities for people irrespective of their background hence our heavy investment in Educational related projects”
