EKO HOT BLOG reports that EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, held a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 31, 2023, to discuss the ongoing fight against corruption in Nigeria.
This marked the first official engagement between the EFCC Chairman and President Tinubu since the latter assumed office as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, and it provided an opportunity for the EFCC Chairman to update President Tinubu on the progress made in the fight against corruption.
One of the key points discussed was Bawa’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, where he signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (NAZAHA) of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, the EFCC Chairman highlighted the importance of international cooperation in combating corruption, as it is a global problem that requires collective efforts to tackle effectively. President Tinubu commended the EFCC Chairman for his efforts and encouraged him to continue the fight against corruption relentlessly.
