EKO HOT BLOG reports in the ongoing trial related to the controversial Gas Supply Processing Agreement (GSPA) between Process and Industrial Development (P&ID) and the Nigerian government, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has demanded to see the death certificate of the former Director of Legal, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Grace Taiga.
Taiga, who was standing trial on allegations of bribery in the P&ID case, had reportedly passed away on August 1, 2023, as informed by her lawyer, Daniel Alumun, on November 4, 2023.
However, during the recent court hearing, the EFCC’s counsel, Mohammed Hussain, insisted that Taiga’s death certificate must be produced before any decision can be made.
Justice Olukayode Adeniyi adjourned the case until March 6, 2024, for a further report on the death certificate.
