Egyptian Side, Al Ahly Eyes Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho

  • Out of Favour Nigerian Forward, Kelechi Iheanacho Wants Out of Sevilla FC
  • Player Keen of getting regular play time
  • Egyptian Side Al Ahly Has thrown in some offers

Egyptian football giants Al Ahly have shown interest in signing Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, EkoHotBlog can exclusively report.

This is coming as Iheanacho wants out  of Spanish La Liga side Sevilla, less than six months after joining the club on a free transfer from Leicester FC.

Iheanacho, who signed with Sevilla during the summer transfer window, has struggled to make an impact under the management of Marco Baroni.

The 28-year-old forward has failed to register a single goal or assist in nine league appearances this season, leading to speculation about his future at the club.

Speculations are rife that Iheanacho is keen on securing a move away from Sevilla in the January transfer window.

The Nigerian international has attracted interest from several clubs across different regions, including England, Greece, Turkey, and the United States.

Among the suitors, Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly has emerged as a serious contender for his signature.

According to a report by the English outlet Express, Al Ahly is considering Iheanacho as a potential replacement for their South African forward, Percy Tau.

Tau, who has been a key player for the Cairo-based club, is reportedly on the verge of leaving, prompting Al Ahly to look for a high-profile replacement to fill the void.

Sevilla is said to be open to allowing Iheanacho to leave on a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.

This arrangement could appeal to Al Ahly, who are eager to strengthen their squad as they compete in domestic and continental competitions.

For Iheanacho, a move to Al Ahly could provide a fresh start and an opportunity to rediscover his form after a difficult stint in Spain.

The Nigerian forward, known for his sharp finishing and creativity, enjoyed previous success in England with Leicester City, where he won the FA Cup in 2021.

His potential move to Egypt would mark a significant step in his career, as he seeks to revive his fortunes and contribute to one of Africa’s most successful football clubs.

It remains to be seen whether Al Ahly can finalize a deal for Iheanacho, given the competition from other interested clubs.

However, the prospect of joining a club with a rich history and a passionate fanbase could be a compelling factor for the Super Eagles star.

For now, all eyes are on the January transfer window, as Iheanacho’s future hangs in the balance.
