The Federal Lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber of Nigeria’s Legislature, Hon Wale Raji, has congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the year 2021 Ramadan fast.

Hon Raji was speaking in an interview with EkoHotBlog when he visited his Epe country home on Monday.

“I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters who have been fasting for the last 30 days and I pray that Almighty Allah would accept their fasting as an act of Ibaadah. I also urge them to ensure that all the discipline imbibed during Ramadan be allowed to continue with them after Ramadan,” he said.

He noted that a successful Ramadan wouldn’t have been possible without due deference to God’s supremacy and the need to bend the knee in recognition to his sovereignty, particularly in the uncertain times we live in.

Noting that the holy month was meant to be a period of heightened moral rectitude, Hon Wale Raji also likened leadership positions in any form to acts of worship in Islam as well as other religions around the world.

“I see whatever position one finds oneself as an opportunity to serve God through service to humanity. We the Muslims call it acts of Ibaadah. Worshipping God goes beyond going to church and mosque for prayers and fasting. That’s not enough, service to humanity is an act of worship,” he stated.

The lawmaker also regretted the insecurity challenges bedevilling the country, and urged Nigerians to pitch in their contributions to ensure the erosion of the gaping challenges occasioned by the increasing wave of insecurity across the country.

“I want to appeal to everybody that it is a joint responsibility at the local, state and federal level. Whichever way we can also contribute towards improving the security of our environment, we should not fail to do so and we should also cooperate with law enforcement agencies in combating insecurity in the country,” he averred.
