Eko Hot Blog reports that in celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extends his warm congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and beyond. He calls upon them to embrace and embody the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President emphasized that this occasion, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet, should serve as a period of profound self-reflection and earnest prayer.
“Adherents should make deliberate efforts to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. There are great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility, and selflessness that we can all learn from the life of the Prophet,” the President stated.
President Tinubu urged religious leaders to utilize this time for prayers on behalf of the nation and to counsel their followers to draw inspiration from Prophet Muhammad’s life in their dedication to the country.
“Nigeria has reached a pivotal juncture. While the government takes essential steps to ensure the country’s security and economic prosperity, we need unwavering support from citizens in the form of patriotism, patience, and prayers. The future is undoubtedly promising,” affirmed the President.
President Tinubu also encouraged Muslims observing the Maulud festival to extend their hands in solidarity to those in need and the vulnerable, in keeping with the spirit of the season. Furthermore, he urged prayers for the nation and its leaders at all levels.
