Six Bandits have been overpowered by the Police Command in Plateau State in Kwoi village, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ubah Ogaba, in a statement verified the incident, lamenting that the Command lost one of its officers in the operation.
According to the statement, a member of the vigilante group also lost his life during the gun battle with the bandits.
The statement explained that the command received a credible information about the activities of a notorious syndicate of gunrunners at Kwoi village in Mangu Local Government Area of the State.
According to the statement, “On receipt of the information, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Mangu, Police operatives attached to Mangu Division, military personnel and local vigilante were mobilised and swiftly moved to the area.”
He explained that the hoodlums engaged the police in a gun duel on sighting the police personnel, stressing that due to the tactical operational capability and superior firepower of the operatives, six of the hoodlums were neutralised while others fled with bullet wounds.
