Ejuke Beat Vinícius, Mbappé, Emerges As LaLiga’s Best Dribbler
The 26-year-old Sevilla star, who joined the club as a free agent from CSKA Moscow during the summer transfer window, has completed 28 successful dribbles out of 46 attempts in the 2024/25 LaLiga season.
This achievement places him ahead of renowned dribblers such as Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior, and Kylian Mbappé.

Despite Yamal leading the dribbling chart with 63 attempts, his success rate stands at 43%. Vinícius Jr. has attempted 56 dribbles with a 36% success rate, while Mbappé has tried 51, achieving a 45% success rate. Takefusa Kubo rounds out the top five, recording 43 dribble attempts with a 40% success rate.
Ejuke’s dribbling expertise has been a hallmark of his playing style since his breakout at CSKA Moscow. In November 2021, he was ranked the third-best dribbler in the world by the CIES Football Observatory.
His flair for taking on defenders also earned him recognition as one of the most exciting talents in the Dutch Eredivisie in 2019.
Since joining Sevilla, Ejuke’s impact has been immediate. In September, he was named Sevilla’s Player of the Month after five league appearances and scoring a crucial goal. His 85th-minute match-winner against Real Valladolid on September 24 secured a 2-1 victory for Sevilla and played a role in earning embattled coach Francisco Pimienta a new contract.

Ejuke’s dribbling dominance isn’t limited to LaLiga. In October, he was ranked as the player with the most successful dribbles across Europe’s top five leagues, completing 23 dribbles—one more than Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.
His stellar form has also caught the attention of the national team selectors, leading to a recall to the Super Eagles squad after a two-year absence. Nigeria’s interim coach, Austin Eguavoen, named him in the 23-man squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying doubleheader against Libya. However, Ejuke did not feature in the sole match played in Uyo, as the return leg in Libya was cancelled due to team disputes.
