BREAKING: Ekiti Chief Judge Adeyeye Is Dead

The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, has passed away at 64 after a brief illness.

According to reports, he died on Monday, November 4, 2024, at a tertiary health facility in Ekiti State, though official details on the circumstances of his passing remain undisclosed. Sources close to the family indicate that he was hospitalized for a short period before his death.

EKO HOT BLOG reports Justice Adeyeye’s career in law spanned several decades, beginning after his call to the bar in 1986.

Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi in Ekiti East Local Government Area, he first served as a state counsel in the former Ondo State’s civil service. When Ekiti State was created in 1996, he transitioned to its judiciary, eventually rising through the ranks due to his dedication and expertise.

His exemplary service led to his promotion as a judge in the Ekiti State High Court in 2002.

Over the years, Justice Adeyeye’s work included significant contributions to the judicial process, including roles in election petition tribunals.

His appointment as Chief Judge came on October 11, 2021, by then-Governor Kayode Fayemi, recognizing his commitment and integrity in upholding the law.
