As part of the primary aim of the Eko Club international, which involves giving back to society, particularly to Lagos communities and Lagosians, Eko Club Austin, Texas identified with the special need scouts of the Lagos State Scout Council by donating scout uniforms to over 100 member of the unit.
The event, which took place on Friday, had in attendance Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Government Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Pharmacist Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, Emeritus State Commissioner for Lagos State Staff Council, Eng. Akinlawon Gilbert

Vice President, Eko Club International, Hon. Olajide Damola, President, Eko Club Houston, Hon. Bashiru Agoro, and other presidents, as well as members of the Eko Club International.
Also, Honorable Yetunde Konrad, President Emeritus, Eko Club Austin, representing the entire club, was ceremonially invested as a member of the Lagos State Scout Council.
During the investiture, she took an oath of alliance and received a neck-tie bearing the crest of the Lagos State Scout Council.
The scout band honored her with a ceremonial parade of honor as the benefactors, who are mostly kids between the age of 5 and 12, were invited to receive their neck ties.
Furthermore, before the final induction rite, the president of Eko Club Houston, Honorable Bashir Agoro, was handed the platform to give the audience an insight on the attributes of Honorable Konrad.
In his brief tribute, he said, “she is a very good-hearted person, considerate to others… she is hardworking and a strong woman, and she is also a very generous woman.” He said
“To have adopted this Boys Scout of Lagos, you guys are lucky to have her.” He concluded.
Following the oath-taking, a crested beret was given to her as she took it according to the instructor’s directives.
A certificate was also handed to her while members of the Eko Club International launched it with some financial donations.
In addition, some members of the special scout unit delivered a dance choreography coordinated by a hearing-aid instructor as the chorography crew, who are bereaved of hearing and speaking ability, danced in sync with the music.
In conclusion, Hon. Konrad and the other members of the Eko Club International completed the official decoration of the special scout units by adorning them with a crested necktie bearing the inscription ‘Eko Club Austin’.
