Eko Club Houston, a cultural and charitable organization, held its Annual Community Picnic over the weekend.
The highlight of the picnic was the awarding of scholarships to deserving students and the distribution of school backpacks and supplies to local children, ensuring they are well-prepared for the new school year.
Dr. Andre Osagie, Vice President of Eko Club Houston and coordinator of the event, expressed the organization’s commitment to supporting education and community development
He said, “At Eko Club Houston, we believe that education is the key to a brighter future. By awarding scholarships and providing school supplies, we aim to not only ease the financial burden on families but also inspire the next generation to reach for their dreams.”
He further emphasized the club’s dedication to giving back: “Our community picnic is not just about fun and games. It’s about making a difference and showing the younger generation that they have a network of support behind them. We are proud to contribute to their educational journey.”
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the scholarships and school items. “This support means a lot to me and my family,” said one of the scholarship recipients.
“It motivates me to keep working hard and pursue my dreams.”
