Eko Club Houston over the weekend held its Annual Community Picnic.
The event featured a competitive Table Tennis Tournament, scholarship awards, and the distribution of school supplies to over 100 students, EKO HOT BLOG reports.
Attorney O. J. Lawal, the sponsor of the Table Tennis Tournament, during the award presentation, commended the organizers for their diligent efforts in ensuring the success of the event.
In his speech, Lawal stressed that the day was not solely about sports but about building stronger community ties.
“This event is a reflection of Eko Club Houston’s core value—strengthening brotherhood and camaraderie. It’s about bringing together family, friends, and neighbors to share memorable moments,” he stated.
Hon. Bashiru Agoro, President of Eko Club Houston, who delivered the opening address, lauded the resourcefulness of the club’s members and their continuous efforts in driving the organization’s success.
He highlighted the importance of service to humanity as the bedrock of the club’s mission.
“No organization can compete in the race of humanity like Eko Club Houston. We remain a benchmark for others in the Diaspora,” Agoro said.
The Annual Picnic, a signature event for Eko Club Houston, featured not only the table tennis competition but also the awarding of scholarships to deserving students and the presentation of school backpacks and supplies to local children.
The event provided an opportunity for members and guests to reconnect and enjoy a day of fun and friendly competition, reinforcing the club’s values of community and togetherness.
