Eko Club International Announces Free Medical Outreach In Lagos

Published

on

Eko Club International has announced its 2022 medical outreach program slated to hold in Lagos on February 25, 2022.

According to the diaspora based organisation, this year’s medical mission will hold at Dr Nurudeen Olowopopo Clinic at the palace of the Osolo of Isolo. It will feature services like health assessment and health education.

According to the organisation, the medical mission is a reprisal of its cardinal annual project, which has not been prioritised in recent years due to the focus placed on relief programs to help Lagosians cushion the scorching economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking ahead of the medical outreach, the club president, Mr Saheed Olushi, reemphasised the need for organisations and corporate entities to help the government provide social services to the Lagosian and Nigerian public by extension.

He added that the organisation would continue to do its best towards helping indigent people in society through its various intervention programs.

This particular medical outreach at Dr Olowopopo’s clinic is a precursor to the bigger mission slated for October, which is expected to cover the five administrative divisions of Lagos State.

Similarly, the club’s liaison officer, Mr Omotayo Ogunyemi, said the medical outreach was significant on many levels. According to him, all hands must be on deck towards delivering quality healthcare in Lagos State because only having a healthy society is a sine-qua-non for a productive society.

Ogunyemi said the Lagos State administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had made giant strides in the healthcare sector in line with its THEMES agenda, but also required the assistance of corporate bodies in taking further steps in this direction.

Other intervention programs executed by the apex group of Lagosians in the diaspora include cash grants to entrepreneurs across all five divisions in Lagos State and numerous donations to non-profit organisations.

Some of the organisation’s signature projects are:

*Annual Medical Mission
* Palliative programs
*Renovation Of Schools
*Scholarship Programmes For Lagos State Indigenes

Last year, Eko Club International made a $20,000 donation to the Baton Rouge food bank I support of the victims of Hurricane Ida.
