Eko Club Pennsylvania Gears Up For Eko Club International’s Second Quarterly Meeting: A Sneak Peek Into The Agenda

Eko Hot Blog reports that officials of the Eko Club International (ECI) are expecting an impactful and successful second quarterly general meeting of 2024.
The meeting is being hosted by the Eko Club of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States (US).

In separate interviews with Eko Hot Blog, Prince Wale Dosunmu, the President of the Eko Club of Pennsylvania, Mr. Saheed AbdulLateef, the ECI Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Mrs. Olabisi Rokosu-Lawal, the ECI Social Secretary expressed readiness for the quarterly general meeting in Philadelphia.
‘WE ARE READY’
President of the hosting chapter, Prince Dosunmu, said that Eko Club of Pennsylvania is ready to receive other chapters from the US and Europe on Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2.
He said his chapter has made plans to ensure that ECI members have the ultimate general meeting experience when they attend the event.
Prince Dosunmu also spoke about the club’s drive to boost the education sector in Lagos to ensure that students can compete globally.
‘NO BORING MOMENT’
On her part, Mrs. Rokosu-Lawal backed the Eko Club of Pennsylvania president in assuring that the association is ready for a fulfilling meeting.
The ECI social secretary told Eko Hot Blog that members will be welcomed to the general meeting with an all-white party.
She said a fun game night will follow with lots of prizes to win, food to eat, and some action on the dance floor.
“On Friday, we have an all-white welcome party for all our members coming from London, Canada, Nigeria, and all members from other chapters all over the US. The welcome party will be in the evening,” Mrs. Rokosu-Lawal said.
“We have some games and fun activities where individuals will be representing their chapters. Some of the games include Catch The Train and Pick The Money. There will be gift cards and other items as prizes that will be given out for various activities that night.”
She added that she plans to encourage greater engagement and participation among members during ECI events by:
- Rewarding the participants with prizes – gift cards.
- Recognizing and given the Winners of the events Spotlight on All ECI WhatsApp Platforms and Social Media.
- Showcasing the chapters of the participating members on All ECI WhatsApp and Social Media Platforms.
- Presenting an award to all participating chapters.
EXERCISE, CHARITY, AND GENERAL MEETING
The ECI social secretary said following the opening day festivities, participants will wake up early on Saturday, the second day, and exercise.
Afterwards, ECI members will embark on a community outreach where food items will be distributed to the needy.
“ECI does a community outreach anytime we meet to make impact in the community wherever we go,” the club’s social secretary said.
“So, we will be donating food items to an organization.”
Mrs. Rokosu-Lawal said ECI members will return to their hotel after the outreach and sit down for the general meeting.”
Following the general meeting, ECI members will gather on Saturday night for a banquet, which is a launching/fundraising event for the hosting chapter.
“It will be an Adire night for us all,” the ECI social secretary added.
The fundraising will feature a raffle draw where participants who buy a $10 ticket can win an HP laptop, a TV set, a deep freezer, a printer, two air fryers, a microwave, and other miscellaneous prizes.
By Sunday morning, members will go back to the airport to return to their bases until the next quarterly general meeting in September in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, US.
‘DISCUSSING PROGRESS AND HELPING LAGOSIANS BACK HOME’
In an interview, the ECI PRO said the club is holding the quarterly meeting to “discuss the progress and the state of the organization with different chapters.”
“Being an organization with 25 chapters across United States of America, Canada, and Europe, we always come together to discuss issues that affect Lagosians, both in diaspora and back home,” he said.
“Considering the economic challenges that people of Lagos are going through right now, we always try to find out ways to support the people.”
