EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the Eko Club Houston, Eko Akete, alongside the Nigerian community in Houston, have expressed sadness over the death of Prince Adelani Adeniji-Adele, popularly known as Oko.
Prince Adeniji-Adele, until his demise on Friday, was a retired immigration officer and a respected chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State.
The socialite died after a brief illness at his Festac home in Lagos.
In a tribute, Eko Club Houston prayed to God to give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.
“The immortality of mortals. With gratitude to Almighty Allah, we announce the transition of our dear brother and friend, Prince Adelani-Adele,” the club said.
“He was a distinguished athlete and hockey player in his youth, a proud alumnus of CMS Grammar School Lagos and the University of Lagos, a retired immigration officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and a founding member of Eko Club Houston and Eko Akete Houston.
“May God grant him eternal rest and comfort the entire Adeniji-Adele family.”
His remains have been deposited in the morgue, while his immediate family is said to be making plans for his burial.
Meanwhile, no date has been announced for his final journey home.
