During his inaugural speech, the newly appointed President outlined an ambitious vision for the forum, placing youth engagement, empowerment, and community development at the forefront of their agenda.
“As the Senior Special Assistant to the State Government on Tertiary Education, I want to ensure that the interests of our community are prioritized, especially when it comes to youth engagement and inclusion,” Moore declared, emphasizing the pressing need to bridge the gaps that have existed in this critical aspect.
Drawing attention to recent events that highlighted the disconnect between youth and local authorities, Moore expressed concern over the lack of awareness surrounding the Commissioner for Youth’s visit to the community. “Just yesterday, the Commissioner for Youth visited our community, but unfortunately, many of us, including prominent figures like Baba Balogun, were unaware of his presence,” he lamented.
Moore’s call for proactive engagement resonated deeply with the audience, as he urged the youth to take an active role in shaping their future. “We need to be more proactive in pushing for recognition and advocating for our rights and interests. It is crucial that we stay informed and engaged with the activities and developments happening within our community. We cannot afford to be bystanders when it comes to shaping the future of our locality.”
Acknowledging the support of elders and community leaders, Moore expressed gratitude, stating, “I would like to express my gratitude to our fathers and elders for their unwavering support. They have been pillars of strength, and we assure them that we will not disappoint them in this endeavor. We shall uphold moral values and serve with integrity, striving to make our community a better place for all.”
With a renewed sense of purpose and determination, the Eko-Epe Youth Forum, under Moore’s leadership, is poised to be a driving force for positive change, fostering an environment that promotes inclusivity, empowerment, and progress.
