EKO HOT BLOG, Wale Raji’s Office Launch Programme to Drive Lagos Youths Towards Military Service

The Office of Wale Raji (MHR) for Epe Federal Constituency, in collaboration with EKO HOT BLOG, is organizing a special awareness programme aimed at sensitizing young people in Epe and Lagos State at large to consider a career in the military.

The event will showcase the benefits and honor associated with joining the armed forces, providing detailed information for those interested in this path.

The programme seeks to reach youths across Epe, emphasizing the pride and rewards of military service.

Speaking about the initiative, Hon. Wale Raji noted that the military isn’t just a job; it’s a way to serve with honor and develop personal growth, discipline, and security.

He added that the event will highlight the advantages of a military career, including long-term benefits and available support for interested candidates.

Rep. Raji said, “This platform will provide participants with a clearer understanding of the available paths, highlighting not only the immediate benefits but also the long-term rewards of a military career.

“We are going all out for intending persons in Epe Federal Constituency with a wide range of robust support systems that include mentorship, guidance, and potential incentives.

“Our goal is to make it easier for interested individuals to see the military as a viable and honorable career option.”

For interested participants, the 88 RRI Military Recruitment is currently open to individuals who meet the following requirements:

Be from Epe Federal Constituency
Age between 18 and 26 years
Hold at least 4 passes in WAEC/NECO or possess a Trade Certificate

Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply online at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng and submit their printed registration slips in person at Wale Raji’s Office in Epe Federal Constituency.

Also, speaking ahead of the programme, the Publisher and CEO of EKO HOT BLOG, Otunba TJ Abass, stated that the seminar would be used to sensitize Lagos youths on the need to consider a future in the military.

“It’s concerning that non-indigenes often fill military slots intended for Lagos, while our state remains underrepresented at higher levels within the military hierarchy,” he noted.

“This seminar is about helping our youth recognize that a career in the military is both honorable and achievable.

We want to build pride in military service among our own, showing that this path is valuable and vital to our community.”

“It’s time for Lagos youths to see military service as a pathway to success and respect. By embracing this opportunity, we can ensure that our state is well-represented in the nation’s armed forces.”

“Our goal is to encourage more indigenous representation in the military, where Lagos State deserves a stronger voice.

This program will serve as a platform to inspire and inform young people of the opportunities available to them.”

On her part, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, who would be one of the guest speakers among other notable figures at the event, applauded Rep. Raji and EKO HOT BLOG for the initiative.

She said the initiative is in line with what the state is doing to support the indigenes.

The SSG added that after the programme, she hopes to extend similar efforts to other parts of Lagos to ensure the state is adequately represented.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to supporting Lagos indigenes and ensuring they have the opportunities they deserve in our nation’s military.

“It’s essential that we see more Lagos youths in military ranks, contributing their skills and representing our state with pride and dedication,” she said.

EKO HOT BLOG notes that the Lagos State Government had expressed concern over the low participation of Lagos indigenes in recent recruitment exercises, underscoring the need for such initiatives.
