Elder Sunday, Josephine Kpere-Daibo Celebrate 60th Wedding Anniversary in Benin City
Elder Sunday Kpere-Daibo, 90, and his wife, Reverend Josephine Kpere-Daibo, 80, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and milestone birthdays in Benin City.
The retired veteran banker, praised for his integrity and visionary leadership, began his career with Barclays Bank in Sapele, which later became Union Bank.
The celebration at Uyi Grand International Event Centre in Benin City drew prominent figures, including Bishop Margaret Benson Idahosa of the Church of God Mission International.
Praising the couple, Idahosa described their 60-year marriage as a model for society and thanked God for their lives.
She urged them to continue inspiring others with their prayers and wisdom, celebrating their legacy while they are alive.
The celebrants urged young couples to embrace patience, tolerance, and God’s principles to overcome life’s challenges.
Elder Kpere-Daibo advised against haste, sharing how he patiently waited seven years to marry his wife, emphasizing the value of perseverance.
Mrs. Jolomi Abirhir, the couple’s daughter, described the celebration as a testament of love, highlighting their parents’ strong legacy.
She praised her mother’s NGO work and expressed gratitude for the chance to celebrate them while alive. Son-in-law Eta Abirhir also expressed his gratitude, calling it an honor to be part of the family and praising his in-laws for their energy and strength.
