Electricity Returns in Epe After Prolonged Blackout
Ekohotblog reports that Epe residents are set to witness a significant breakthrough as the long-standing electricity outage in the area is expected to be resolved today.
This follows the relentless efforts of Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, the Chairman of Epe Local Government, in collaboration with Hon. Abiodun Tobun, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
The blackout, which had persisted for several months, has really affected businesses and households in Epe.
However, the development brings much-needed relief, especially for local businesses that depend heavily on electricity for daily operations.
Speaking on the efforts made, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun remarked, “This victory is a result of teamwork and the collective will to improve the standard of living in Epe.
We worked closely with key stakeholders to ensure that the issues were identified and resolved in record time.
Our residents deserve the best, and today, we deliver on that promise.”
Hon. Abiodun Tobun also emphasized the importance of electricity for economic activities in the region.
“The restoration of power marks a new chapter for the people of Epe.
“We are fully aware of the challenges the outage posed to our community, and we ensured no stone was left unturned in our efforts to resolve the issue.
“The return of electricity will breathe life back into our local economy,” he stated.
The NYCN played a crucial role in advocating for swift action on behalf of the youth and residents of Epe.
A representative from the council highlighted the importance of community collaboration, saying, “This achievement showcases the strength of unity. We stood as one, made our voices heard, and today, we celebrate a brighter future for Epe.”
Technical teams from Ikeja Electric have been on the ground, moving from transformer to transformer, to ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
According to reports from the company, all necessary repairs have been completed, and power will be restored across the area today.
Residents and business owners alike are eager for the return of power, with many expressing relief and optimism for the economic resurgence that will follow.
