Maintain Peace And Tradition, Elejinrin Of Ejinrin Urges Epe Community At Kayokayo Festival
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Elejinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom, Ọba Babatunde Balogun, has emphasized the importance of maintaining peace to ensure the continuity of the rich cultural heritage of the Epe community of Lagos State.
At the 2024 Kayokayo Festival celebrating the community’s traditions, Ọba Balogun called upon all members of the Epe community to foster unity and harmony.

Speaking at the event, the monarch highlighted that the preservation of peace is crucial for the transmission of customs and values to future generations.
“Our traditions are the bedrock of our identity. It is through peace and unity that we can pass on these cherished customs to our children and grandchildren,” Ọba Balogun stated.
Adding her voice to the call for peace, Olori Mojisola Balogun, the queen of Ejinrin Kingdom, offered prayers for the well-being of the Olu Epe and all community members.
She expressed her hope for continued prosperity and unity within the community, urging everyone to work together for the common good.
“May the Olu Epe be blessed with wisdom and strength to lead our community, and may we all find the grace to live in harmony,” Olori Mojisola prayed.
The event, which drew a large crowd of community members and dignitaries, also featured cultural performances and displays of traditional attire.
It served as a reminder of the community’s rich heritage and the importance of preserving it.
In his closing remarks, Ọba Babatunde Balogun reiterated the significance of collective effort in maintaining peace and nurturing traditions.
He urged the younger generation to take pride in their cultural roots and to actively participate in community activities that promote unity.
The Epe community, known for its vibrant culture and traditions, has long been a beacon of cultural preservation in Lagos State.
