In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some things Elon Musk is likely to Change on Twitter.

1. Change the way content is moderated

One of the biggest issues that Musk has had with Twitter is the opaqueness with which the social media platform moderated its content.

Not just Musk, but many people have felt, that over the years, some of the decisions that Twitter has taken regarding accounts and posts of Public Figures have been erratic at times, and completely undemocratic at others. Musk has made it clear that Twitter would allow free speech from all.

2. Eliminate Bots & Crypto Scams

Twitter is the go-to platform for crypto lovers. Unfortunately, it is also home to some of the most prolific crypto scams, something to which Musk has personally fallen victim.

Scammers have impersonated Musk using fake accounts on various social media sites to get people to give away cryptocurrency.

In 2020, Musk’s account was among a few high-profile Twitter accounts that were hacked to push a scam. Musk recently tweeted that if his bid to acquire succeeds “we will defeat the spam bots or die trying!” and “authenticate all real humans.”

3. Introduce An Edit Button

There are many arguments as to whether Twitter should have an edit feature or not. No matter what side of the argument you’re on, it is rather difficult to deny, that there are ways that the micro-blogging site can implement an edit feature, just like several other platforms.

4. Get Rid of Ads

“And no ads,” Musk said on April 9th, referring to Twitter’s revenue model. If Twitter relies on advertising revenue to stay afloat, companies have a lot more ability to dictate policy.” The tweet has subsequently been deleted by Musk.

There’s also a high possibility he’ll eliminate ads, and stick with a service like Twitter Blue, which charges $3 per month. To entice additional people to join up for Twitter Blue, he’ll probably introduce a few value-added features.
