EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Northern Youths, under the banner of the Unified Northern Forum for Godwin Emefiele for President in 2023, have urged the CBN governor to run for president in 2023 as a core professional and bureaucrat, claiming that politicians and former military leaders have failed Nigeria.
According to the Northern youths, Dr. Emefiele, as a core professional, is the only way to salvage Nigeria at this critical juncture.
Mr Mohammed Salie Danlami, the Convener of the group, said that a professional to the core like a CBN governor will make the country better and greater and frontally handle the current difficulties without any political prejudice at a news conference in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, on Thursday.
“It is past time for the youths of the country’s 19 northern states to rally behind a technocrat and current Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Dr. Godwin Emefiele, to run for the presidency in 2023 in order to give more value to the country’s socio-economic stability,” he added.
“As we can see, politicians have failed us, as have our retired and former military commanders,” he remarked. As a result of a lack of competence and political will to address them, our issues are growing increasingly monstrous. We can’t keep doing the same thing and expecting different results, so we need to shift our narrative.
“The coming out of Mr Godwin Emefiele to seek the mandate of the Nigerians at this point remains a great honour that would change the political calculations of the perceived cabals that have been ruling the nation.
Danlami also that, “It will be unpatriotic for Emefiele to reject the call because we have made contacts to all that matters in the northern parts of the country and they have supported our move.
“He should respect the sacrifice we are presently making during the Ramadan to go across the states campaigning for him, and heed our call.
“Emefiele is the man that Nigerians need to give value to their lives, and if he runs for President, he will make life easier for all Nigerians.”
“No one would be better than Emefiele, who has seen it all and has ascended to the position of governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria without being ousted,” Danlami continued.
“After all other choices have failed us, now is the time to look into a private sector personality and technocrat like Dr. Godwin Emefiele, whom we need to trust with the presidency in order to deliver purposeful leadership to the country.”
“He is a Deltan and has worked for the economic growth of the country since his emergence as the CBN Governor of Nigeria.
“Emefiele’s interventions of about 37 in numbers are masses oriented ones that have allowed Nigerian youths to benefit without any considerations and this has reduced the poverty level of average Nigerian youth.
“As a northerner, Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy and Emefiele’s interventions in the sector has moved up to all the parts of the nation.
“Emefiele is the only technocrat capable of rescuing the masses from the country’s current problems.”
“If he runs for President of the United States, all sectors of the country will prosper.” In Nigeria today, there are no suitable candidates.
“They’re politicians who wanted to amass a lot of money.” They don’t want us to move forward; instead, they want to further their own selfish interests.”
As a result, Danlami urged Dr Emefiele to heed the clarion call to run for president of the country in order to provide effective leadership to the country’s burgeoning population.
