Emir Sanusi: Police React to Disrespect, Send Warning
Eko Hot Blog reports that Kano State Police Command has expressed strong disapproval over the recent incident where Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II’s entourage was booed.
This was conveyed in a statement by the command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in Kano on Monday.
Kiyawa reported that the incident occurred when the Emir took an alternative route as part of his religious duties while returning to his palace after Eid prayers.
Unfortunately, within the vicinity of Festival Primary School and Zage/Zango areas, some unidentified persons began to boo him.
“Currently, the police command is monitoring the entire Sallah events to ensure law and order are maintained, adequate security measures are in place to tackle any form of security threats.

“Accordingly, the police command is warning individuals intending to cause chaos or breach the peace during the Sallah celebration to stay clear of the state,’’ Kiyawa stated.
He added that sufficient security personnel had been deployed to apprehend anyone attempting to disrupt public order.
The police also cautioned the public against carrying weapons during and after the celebration, warning that severe penalties would be imposed on those found in violation.
“Rigorous stop-and-search operations and patrols are ongoing in all Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the metropolitan area to ensure a peaceful celebration,” Kiyawa added.
