Q1: Mobosinuola, could you share a bit about your background and the various roles you play in your professional and personal life?
Mobosinuola: Certainly! I wear multiple hats as an entrepreneur, writer, creator, and storyteller. I am the Founder and CEO of Touch of a Queen, a fashion and lifestyle brand celebrating African culture, and MMANSA, a beauty retailer focusing on luxury black-owned brands. Additionally, I’m a life and business coach, guiding clients to achieve clarity and maximize their goals. My journey started at Howard University, where I pursued degrees in Public Relations, Journalism, and Playwriting, fostering a passion for media, storytelling, and empowerment.
Q2: What inspired you to pursue writing, and which areas of writing do you focus on?
Mobosinuola: My inspiration comes from talk shows like the Oprah Winfrey Show, appreciating the depth of interviews, community building, and storytelling. Oprah’s evolution as a media mogul is immensely inspiring. I focus on writing stage plays and screenplays, and in 2020, I had the opportunity to contribute to a short animation film, “TRIUMPH,” screened at the Accra Animation Festival. Beyond that, my YouTube channel, Mobosinuola, covers a wide range of topics, from Nollywood film suggestions to discussions on smart money moves, reflecting my passion for thought-provoking content.
Q3: Can you provide a brief synopsis of your current book or project?
Mobosinuola: On my YouTube channel, I delve into various topics, offering a unique perspective based on my life experiences and personal manifesto. Viewers can join me in discussing anything from self-empowerment and relationships to cultural insights. I aim to provoke thoughtful discussions and provide valuable insights that resonate with my audience.
Q4: What motivated you to create a YouTube channel, and what obstacles did you overcome to make it a reality?
Mobosinuola: The desire to create a YouTube channel has been with me for over a decade. In 2023, I decided to break free from the excuses that held me back. Barriers to entry in certain fields previously existed, but the evolving landscape of social media and content creation platforms now offers opportunities to carve our unique paths. It’s about creating our own lanes and sharing our passions with the world.
Q5: Looking ahead, what are your future goals as a writer and content creator?
Mobosinuola: In 2024, I plan to relaunch Mobosinuola’s Book Club, a virtual community reading books by Black authors across the African diaspora. Interested individuals can sign up at www.Mobosinuola.com. My goal is to continue fostering a community around Black literature and providing a platform for engaging discussions.
