#EndBadGovernance Protesters Issue 17-Point Ultimatum To Nigerian Govt
EKO HOT BLOG reports that organizers of the #EndBadGovernance protests have issued a 17-point ultimatum to the Federal Government ahead of their planned nationwide demonstration on October 1, 2024.
Their demands include the immediate release of all detained protesters, the unfreezing of their assets, and compensation for the distress they endured during peaceful demonstrations.

Led by activist Omoyele Sowore, the protesters are also calling for the removal and prosecution of government officials accused of suppressing protests and violating human rights.
A major demand is the scrapping of the 1999 Constitution and its replacement with a new, people-centered constitution.

The movement is also advocating for the restructuring of Nigeria to better represent its diverse regions and aspirations.
Other demands include comprehensive police reforms, accountability for abuses of power, and the addressing of issues related to governance, corruption, and economic hardship that have sparked widespread discontent across the nation.
