#EndSARS: Buhari Vows To Deal With Any Act Of Hooliganism

The President, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), has vowed to deal decisively with any act of hooliganism connected to the planned resuscitation of the #EndSARS protests across the country.

Eko Hot Blog had earlier reported that a significant fraction of protesters have whipped momentum towards the revival of the nationwide demonstrations which came to an end following the shooting at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020, which consequently led to the hijacking of the peaceful protests by hoodlums who seized the opportunity to embark on wanton looting of private and government enterprises.

In a tweet from its verified Twitter handle on Monday, December 7th 2020, the Presidency vowed to mercilessly crackdown against any acts of hooliganism associated with the planned revival of the #EndSARS demonstrations across the country.

“President @MBuhari today in Abuja warned that any act of hooliganism hiding behind lawful and peaceful protests will be dealt with decisively to ensure peace and stability in the country” the Presidency said in a tweet.

Also, in a suspected show of force to discourage any planned #EndSARS gatherings in the state, the Lagos state government on Monday deployed myriads of security operatives at strategic locations, beginning with the Lekki Toll Gate and the Opebi, Alausa axis in Ikeja.
