Aladeshoyin Of Noforija Kingdom, in Eredo Local Government of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, says he appreciates the youths of his local government for their peaceful practice during the #EndSARS protest.
He expressed his gratitude for their acts during a meeting he hosted the youths of the area on Thursday, November 5.
Meanwhile, Epe Local Government was said to be the only division within the state that did not witness the destruction caused by hoodlums within the state. Although there was a protest, it was done in moderation without any form of violence or destruction of properties.
Recall that hoodlum had hijacked the protest, leading to damage of public and private properties and loss of lives amongst other things.
Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja in the meeting with the youths lauded their cooperation, adding that his appreciation was on behalf of the kingdom.
“Although there was a protest, this happened in moderation, without any violence or property damage”, he said.
While thanking the youths of the community, he also attributed the success to the cordial relationship between the political class, particularly the traditional ruler and their subjects.
He further assured them of his support and that of the Governor to partner with them in the quest to move the state forward.
In his conclusion, the monarch noted that meetings would be held regularly, with the intention of engaging the youths of the community and attending to their concerns.

Meanwhile, earlier on Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari said his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, would lead senior government officials to various parts of the country to see the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest.
He said Gambari will also directly engage with traditional rulers as part of the process to address the concerns of youths in the country.
