#EndSARS Protest: Bauchi Governor Urges Journalists To Unite Nigerians

Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has urged all journalists to use their professionalism to unite Nigerians in the face of the #EndSARS and police brutality protests across the country.

Mohammed made the call in his home town, Yelwan Buguri in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.

He noted that the country was divided as a result of the various protests across the country, thereby advising journalists not to heat up the polity by sensationalising their reports.

He said although the police had its limitations, the country could not do without their services of protecting lives and property as well as maintaining peace and order.

“Nigeria is so divided now, especially in the face of the ongoing #EndSARS and police brutality protests.

“You, as journalists should not compound the situation, but should use your professionalism to unite Nigerians by disseminating the right information, such that will not heat up the polity,” he said.

The governor appreciated all journalists present during the election and promised that his administration would always carry the media along.

He further, commended the people of Alkaleri local government and all the citizens of the state for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner throughout the conduct of the election.

He assured them that his administration would bring more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
