In Osun state, at least two protesters have been killed by armed thugs who ambushed Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s convoy in Osogbo, during the #EndSARS protest on Saturday, witnesses said.
Some witnesses at the protest ground spoke with our correspondent said the killing took place in Ayepe area of Osogbo some minutes past 4 p.m.
On social media, pictures and videos of victims involved in the clash is has been trending.
According to reports, it happened when Gov Oyetola convoy was attacked in the state capital. The armed touts ambushed the Governor’s convoy with cutlass, broken bottles and all sorts of weapons.
The clash happened when the governor was addressing protesters.
Oyetola was urging the youth that their demands would be considered and acted upon, the attackers came out from their hiding place and threw sharp objects at the Governor’s direction.
The security guards and officers were able to rescue Mr Oyetola from the scene.
A similar attack happened last Thursday in Osun, the attacks in the state is becoming more consistent.
