EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, along with the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, unveiled a new office dedicated to processing Advance Passenger Information and Passenger Name Record on Wednesday.
Keyamo announced the development in a post on X.com on Thursday, highlighting it as a significant step towards enhanced border security and facilitating legitimate travel.
He wrote, “Yesterday, along with my colleague, the HM Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, we unveiled the new Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) office at the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters.
“API/PNR are two technical responses to streamline traveler identification management and facilitate border management.”
He added that this development was a product of effective collaboration between government agencies private sector.
He added, “This solution will help to maintain the delicate balance between facilitating cross-border movements and upholding border security.
“It is a product of effective cooperation between government agencies, the private sector and relevant international actors.”
It was reported earlier in May that Keyamo unveiled plans to review agreements Nigeria had entered into with some nations of the world, to ensure local carriers fly international routes without any encumbrances.
