Enugu: Police Launch Manhunt for Abductors of Health College Students
The Enugu State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for the kidnappers of three students from Enugu State College of Health Technology Oji River, located in Oji River Local Government Area.
On Sunday, a viral video circulated, showing residents raising concerns about the abduction of several students from the college since Wednesday evening. The video also criticized authorities for their perceived lack of response to the incident.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen, entered the school complex around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and abducted the students.
In a statement released on Saturday night, police spokesperson DSP Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the kidnapping, stating that two of the students had been rescued while three others remain missing. Ndukwe refuted the claims in the viral video that a large number of students had been abducted, labeling it as “false” and an attempt to “mislead and create panic.”
