Enugu State Government Directs Assets Transition As Former Political Appointees Bow Out

  • Former Secretary of State to the Govt had earlier told the former politicians to handover before May 26

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Enugu State Government has directed all former political appointees and political office holders under the immediate past administration to comply with the earlier directive to hand over before May 26.

This is contained in a statement by the new Secretary to the State Government, Proessor Chidiebere Onyia, on Wednesday in Enugu.

 

The  former Secretary to the Government, Professor Simeon Otuanya, had on May 26 instructed them to hand over immediately ahead of the expiration of the second tenure of the past administration.

 

Onyia said the government called for immediate compliance with the directive by handing over all government assets in their possession to the Permanent Secretary or Director of Administration or Director of Personnel Management in their Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), before the close of work on Wednesday.

 

He further said those affected included all former Chief Executive Officers of Government – Owned Companies, Board Chairmen and Board Members of government–owned companies, and Executive Secretaries of parastatals or government-owned companies.
