The Premier Club in Epe Division, Epe Club, has admonished residents of the town to inculcate the teachings enshrined in the Quran and also put into practice lessons learned from public Islamic lectures during the sacred month of Ramadan.
President of the Club, Engineer AbdulRasheed Shabi, gave the admonition while addressing a gathering of Muslim faithfuls during club’s annual Ramadan lecture held on Saturday 8th May 2021.
Speaking during the Ramadan Lecture tagged: “The Role of Religion in Achieving Stable and Secure Environment”, he said the holy month extolled the virtue of tolerance, peace and brotherhood.
He urged the Muslim faithfuls not to backside and return to improper and immoral act after Ramadan was gone, noting that the country would be a better place if lessons learned from lectures in the month of Ramadan are put into practice.
He” Ramadan is all about love. Don’t engage in what’s not fruitful to you. Start teaching your children how to engage in legal but not shady business. Parents should also assist the government to curb insecurity in the country by reporting them to the government so that they won’t destroy your name”.
Also, the President, Pharmacist Khadijat Ife Shabi, led other wives of members of the club to present cash gifts and other consumables to some widows in the community. It was gathered that both the old and young benefited from the philanthropy and they immensely appreciated the gesture and prayed for their benefactors.
In her remarks, having appreciated the leadership of the Club for the special opportunity to serve humanity, Mrs Khadijat Shabi stated that the gesture was necessary as it is the grace of God Almighty that has kept their better halves alive, unlike the widows whose husbands are no more but still holding forth in faith to the promise of Allah.

” To secure ourselves, the first thing is to have God within us. Do good to your neighbours because if you’re eating and your neighbour is hungry, the country is not secured then. Another thing is that if you have the opportunity to say the truth when you say the truth, you’re securing the community, you’re securing the nation, you’re even securing yourself “, he stated.
