Chief Surakat Adeyemi Apena is dead, Epe Division Mourns
The death has been announced of popular businessman and renowned philanthropist in Epe Division of Lagos State, Surakat Adeyemi Apena, the Olori Omoba Alara Adesonwon of Ilara, Epe.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Chief Surakat Apena, died on Monday.
Chief Apena, owner of the Total Filling Station at Aiyetoro, Epe, was a central figure in the community, known for his philanthropy and dedication to local causes.
Today, his body was laid to rest following Islamic rites.
The funeral began with a solemn prayer session at the Ita-Opo Central Mosque, after which his remains were returned to his residence in Papa, Epe.
During the prayer service, the preacher emphasized Chief Apena’s unwavering support for religious institutions and his significant contributions to the community. He prayed for Allah to grant the late Chief Aljanah Firdaus.

His body was moved from his residence in Papa, Epe, to the Ita-Opo Central Mosque, where a solemn prayer session was held.
The preacher, in his sermon, urged the children of the late Chief Surakat Apena and all present to emulate the virtues of the deceased, highlighting his tireless support for places of worship and his significant contributions to the community at large. He prayed for Allah to grant Chief Surakat Apena Aljanah Firdaus.
After the prayers at the mosque, Chief Apena’s body was returned to his residence, where he was laid to rest.
The funeral was attended by a host of dignitaries and prominent figures, including Hon. Abiodun Tobun, Prof. Onibon, Barrister Tunde Seriki, the Commissioner for the Civil Service Commission, and Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Monarchs from the region, including the Alara of Ilara, the Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom, the Oloja of Epe Land, and the Onilekki of Lekki, also sent their representatives to pay their respects.
