The leadership of the Epe Division Professional Women Association (EPWA), the pioneer women association in the Epe Division, has rewarded the exemplary and impactful leadership of the member representing the Epe federal constituency at the National Assembly with an award of excellence.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Rep. Wale Raji clinched the award which was tagged “Epe Icon of the Year,” in a transparent voting process by members of the association and was presented to the awardee on Saturday 2nd October 2022 at Epe Royal Waterfront Suites in a colourful ceremony.
Reacting to the development, Rep. Wale Raji expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the all-female association comprising noble personalities from different walks of life. He also expressed optimism at the establishment of the group with the sole purpose of emancipating the chances of the women folk in the Nation building through charitable programs for the women folk and the girl-child.
Wale Raji, who used the medium to charge the citizenry to elect capable hands in political offices, restated his commitment to reinvigorating the local economy through women and youth empowerment and the provision of infrastructure.
“We have been able to embark on several life-touching projects across Epe federal constituency in the educational sector, health sector, and the local economy through cooperative associations, market development, vocational training, road infrastructure and so on. I, therefore, urge you to ensure that you support the emergence of capable leaders to serve in public offices,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the women, the newly inaugurated President of the group, Mrs Balogun Margaret appreciated the legislator for his consistent support to the group in the past, and present and his commitment to do more when the need arises.
Eko Hot Blog reports that earlier in the day before the MHR was presented with the award, the drive to improve the existing health infrastructure in Epe federal constituency got a major boost as the Iraye Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) took delivery of the 2nd batch of medical equipment instrumental to the smooth take-off of the facility.
According to the Senior Legislative Aide to the lawmaker on projects and special duties, Otunba Wale Olusesi, he disclosed that the facility would soon be put to use since the structure has already been completed with the necessary equipment. He added that the facility would be commissioned for official use immediately after the critical documentation and deployment of staff are finalized.
During the week, Wednesday 19th October 2022 in particular, Ekohotblog reports that the lawmaker was applauded for contributing immensely to the success of the Free Medical Mission organised by Eko Club International in conjunction with the Lagos State Government under the leadership of the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Mr Babajide Sanwoolu through the Lagos State Free Health Mission.
The commendation came from the President of the club, Chief Saheed Olushi and the President-Emeritus, Otunba TJ Abass who averred that the logistics support provided by the MHR was a soothing balm that greatly relieved the organisation in offering free medical services and treatments for diabetes, dental care, eye care with free eyeglasses, minor surgeries and so on.
