Epe Division Renaissance Initiative (EDRIN) Holds AGM; Hon. Olowa Calls for Accountable Leadership
The Epe Division Renaissance Initiative (EDRIN) hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 27, 2027, alongside a one-day retreat centered on leadership accountability and retirement preparedness.
The event brought together community leaders and stakeholders for thought-provoking discussions on ethical governance and planning for life after active service.
Ekohotblog reports that a major highlight was the keynote lecture, Political Stewardship: A Front Row Leadership in Governance, delivered by Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government. Hon. Olowa underscored the significance of ethical leadership, transparency, and inclusivity in governance.
“Leadership is about service, trust, and collaboration,” Hon. Olowa stated. “A good leader fosters inclusivity, builds partnerships, and inspires a shared vision for sustainable community development. Without these, progress is fleeting, and stability is compromised.”
He urged leaders to prioritize accountability, emphasizing that transparent leadership builds trust and ensures the achievement of developmental goals.
The retreat also included a session on retirement planning, facilitated by financial expert Mr. Dayo Quadri. He provided practical strategies for investment and transitioning into retirement.
“Retirement is a phase for reflection and reinvention,” Mr. Quadri said. “With proper planning and strategic investments, leaders can maintain financial independence while continuing to contribute meaningfully to society.”
He lauded participants for their active involvement. “This retreat is a step toward cultivating visionary leaders who will drive the transformation of the Epe Division. It also addresses the need for retirement planning to ensure a seamless transition for our leaders,” he remarked.
Participants described the event as timely and impactful, calling for sustained dialogue to tackle developmental challenges in the Epe Division.
