One of the beneficiaries, Aremu Al-Roon, in an interview, hailed and prayed for Dr. Oladunjoye for helping him and others regain their sight.

“We thank Dr. Thani for his kind gesture. Our eyes that were blocked before and didn’t have vision, he took us for eye surgery and God helped us regain our vision. We were transported with his vehicle to and fro and everyone of us was delivered to our respective homes,” he said in Yoruba.

“May God reward Dr. Thani for this huge gesture. May he not die young; when he grows old, may he not be a struggling elder.”

Another beneficiary, Titilayo Adegbenbo, recounted how she had struggled with a bad sight for more than three years until the intervention by the Thani Oladunjoye Old People Care Center.

“I had been struggling with my vision for three or four years. At Thanni Oladunjoye Foundation, my vision was healed. I am extremely happy,” she said.

Likewise, Abeni Hassan, who also benefited from the gesture, revealed how she only saw darkness when she came for the surgery, but started seeing the light after the intervention.

“I thank Oladunjoye for establishing this foundation. He will always get reward for his hard work. May he not fall. I came here seeing only darkness. Now, I’m leaving seeing the light. I can see men and women passing by me. He [Dr. Thanni] did not take a dime from me; he did this surgery for free,” she said.

Another aged woman, Grace, who had been blind for two years expressed appreciation for regaining her sight following the surgery sponsored by the Thanni Oladunjoye Foundation.

“They took us to hospital yesterday and they opened our eyes today. Now, light has entered my life and darkness has disappeared,” she said.

The elderly woman also gave thanks for the free gifts of drugs and glasses from the Thanni Oladunjoye Foundation.

Similarly, a beneficiary who didn’t mention his name, praised Dr. Oladunjoye for providing the surgery and drugs at no cost, while providing free transport.

“We thank Dr. Thanni for his efforts over us, especially the eyes he helped us fix. When we were going [for the surgery], he gave his car out to transport us and the car returned us,” he said.

“We did not pay a dime; the drugs and everything were free. We pray to God that grant him the wisdom to donate his financial resources to this cause that the money will not run dry. May God protect Dr. Thanni and his family.”

Meanwhile, the eye surgeries took place on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

This is the fifth in the series of such interventions, making a total of 84 senior citizens who have such benefitted.
