Eko Hot Blog reports that the Agaba family, in collaboration with the Epe community, has announced the funeral arrangements for the late Otunba Mohammedsegir Bolaji Agaba, a revered political icon and former Executive Secretary of Epe Local Government.
The burial ceremony will take place on May 11th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Jubilee Chalet in Epe, Lagos State.
Throughout his distinguished career, Otunba Agaba made significant contributions to the development and progress of Epe Kingdom and Lagos State. He was the last Executive Secretary of Epe Local Government before the creation of LCDAs.
Born in 1944, he hailed from the Agaba Adelakun Family of Isale Agoro area of Epe Kingdom. After attending Ijebu Muslim College, he briefly worked with the Federal Ministry of Communication in Lagos before proceeding to Chicago, USA, in 1975. The deceased graduated with honors from Chicago State University and subsequently became an IT specialist.
Upon returning to Nigeria in 1999, he assisted the Bola Tinubu administration in Lagos State and was appointed the Executive Secretary of the Larger Epe Local Government.
Otunba Agaba later served as the General Manager of the Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC) before returning to the US.
The event will have several distinguished guests serving as Fathers of the Day, including Alhaji Akanni Seriki and Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, who are Members of the G.A.C. Lagos State. Hon. Mustain Abiodun Tobun, a Member of LAHA Lagos State representing Epe Constituency 1, will also be honored as a Father of the day.
Additionally, Hon. Ogunkelu Sylvester Oluwadahunsi, Hon. Idris Aregbe, Members of LAHA Lagos State representing Epe Constituency 2, and Barr. Omodele Ibrahim Alakoso, President of the Ogunmodede Club, will be recognized as Fathers of the day.
The Royal Fathers of the Day will include HRM Oba Shefiu Adewale, the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, and HRM Balogun Rafiu Elejinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom. Their presence will add to the solemnity and significance of the occasion.
Among the Chief Hosts will be Hon. Wale Raji, representing Epe Federal constituency at the House of Representative, Mr. Nosirudeen Kaka, Barr. Seriki Tunde, a member of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, and Hon. Idris Aregbe, S.A. on Tourism, Art, & Culture, Lagos State.
Additionally, Hon. Surah Animashaun, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, will serve as a host for the event.
Fidau prayers will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Eagle Club, Surulere, Lagos State, and another prayer session will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Jubilee Chalet, Epe, Lagos State.
As the Epe Kingdom and Lagos State come together to bid farewell to Otunba Agaba, they celebrate his enduring legacy of service, compassion, and leadership, which will continue to inspire and motivate future generations.
