Ekohotblog reports that The Epe Local Government and its residents are mourning the loss of a distinguished figure, Alhaji (Chief) Surakat Adeyemi Apena, who passed away recently.
Chief Apena, a well-respected icon and native of Epe, was widely known for his profound impact on the community and his significant contributions to both local and national development.
In a statement issued on behalf of her family and the people of Epe, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun FHTI, expressed her deepest condolences to the Apena family.
She paid tribute to the late Chief Apena, highlighting his wisdom, guidance, and steadfast dedication to the welfare of his people, which has left a lasting legacy.
“We mourn the loss of a great personality, whose wisdom, guidance, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people has left an indelible mark on our hearts and history,”
Hon. Animashaun stated. “Chief Apena was not just a leader but a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration for many.
His contributions to the peace, unity, and progress of Epe will forever be remembered.”
Chief Apena was also a pioneering businessman, noted as the first distributor of Total Oil in Nigeria, marking him as a significant figure in the country’s economic landscape.
His achievements in business were matched by his commitment to the social and political advancement of Epe, where he remained a respected elder and mentor.
Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun extended her heartfelt sympathies to the Apena family during this difficult time, offering prayers for comfort and strength.
She also prayed that the Almighty Allah grants Chief Apena Jannat-UI-Firdaus.
The passing of Chief Surakat Adeyemi Apena is a great loss to Epe and beyond, as his legacy of service, leadership, and community development will continue to inspire generations to come.
