The initiative is reportedly parts of efforts to alleviate the mounting economic challenges caused by the removal of fuel subsidy, inflation, and high dollar rate.
Delivering her speech at the distribution event, Animashaun extended her gratitude to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his unwavering support in making the relief effort possible.
She emphasised the importance of collective action and urged NGOs and other organisations to join hands in extending the reach of these palliative measures.
“We cannot do this alone,” she said, “We need the collaboration of all well-meaning individuals and groups to make a significant impact.”
This initiative saw local farmers being patronised to source the raw food items, a move aimed at supporting the local agricultural economy.
The event, however, faced the challenge of accommodating an unexpectedly high number of attendees from neighbouring local governments and states.
Despite this influx, the Epe LG chairman’s team worked diligently to ensure that as many residents as possible received the relief items.
The raw food distribution drew a diverse crowd and expressions of gratitude and hope from beneficiaries.
A local resident Mrs. Egberongbe, remarked, “This gesture has lifted a heavy burden off our shoulders. It shows that our local government truly cares about us. We hope for continued support and solutions that will make our lives better.”

Animashaun called on the people of Epe to stand by the government and show support for its efforts as her administration targets more relief efforts.
“When we support our government, we motivate them to do more for us,” she asserted.
