Epe LG Chairman Animashaun Donates Academic Materials, Furniture To Students After Resumption
Eko Hot Blog reports that students and schools in Epe Local Government, Epe, Lagos State, have been thrown into excitement following the receipt of academic materials and furniture.
Recall that the students resume school for a new section only a few weeks ago.
Following the resumption, the Chairman of Epe LG, Hon. (Princess) Surah O. Animashaun, welcomed them back to school by donating academic materials and furniture, including beds and blackboards.
The LG’s Media and Publicity department announced the development in a statement on Saturday.
The statement also disclosed that students of Epe Grammar School were presented with the first set of over 50 bunk beds with more being constructed.
It added that Animashaun also replaced all the blackboards in Army Children’s Primary School with standard white marker boards and donated academic materials including math-sets and text books to all upland and riverine public primary schools in Epe LG.
The latest intervention follows various efforts in the past by the Epe LG boss to improve the welfare of the vulnerable population in Epe.
In August, Animashaun directed the distribution of foodstuff across the 8 wards that make up the area as palliative to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal government.
At the time, she said the Epe Food Bank Initiative was born out of her commitment to humanity and that no one in Epe should go to bed without food in their stomach.
The Epe LG said the initiative was targeted at thousands of residents,
“The government is rolling out plans to make sure that palliative reaches the targeted beneficiaries particularly the poor and less privileged across the Local Government without hitches,” the LG chairman said in a statement.
