Epe LG Powers Up Farmers, Fishers With A Fresh Initiative

Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a significant move to support the agricultural sector, the Epe Local Government, led by Chairman, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, empowered local farmers and fishers on Wednesday with a range of palliatives and essential resources.
The empowerment programme, held at the Epe Local Government Secretariat, witnessed farmers receiving cash grants and a variety of crops, including corn, guinea corn, and millet.

In her address, Princess Animashaun emphasized the importance of agricultural sustainability and food security.
She also promised fishers in the community that they would soon receive vital fishing equipment.
This initiative aims to reduce the cost of fish, which has recently been a concern for many residents.
“We are committed to ensuring that the cost of fish is not too expensive, and that our fishers have the tools they need to succeed,” the Epe LG boss stated.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, offering prayers and thanks to the local government chairman for her continuous support.
Many noted that these palliatives would significantly ease their challenges and improve their productivity.
Meanwhile, Princess Animashaun highlighted that the event is part of an ongoing series of empowerment initiatives.
She reminded the attendees of a previous empowerment programme where each farmer received a cash grant of ₦100,000.
The Epe LG chairman further encouraged all beneficiaries to utilize the funds and resources effectively to benefit the entire community.

“By doing so, we can make food more affordable and accessible for everyone,” she added.
Princess Animashaun also announced plans for another empowerment programme next month, promising continued support and resources for the local agricultural sector.
