Epe LG Boss, Tobun, Others Hold Stakeholders Meeting to Address Power Supply Issues
Ekohotblog reports that in a concerted effort to resolve the long-standing issue of inadequate power supply in Epe and Ibeju Lekki, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun FHTI, Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, alongside Hon. Abiodun Tobun, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and Comr. Moibi Ibrahim, Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), held a stakeholders’ meeting with key government officials and Ikeja Electric representatives.

The meeting, held on September 5th, 2024, at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources conference room, was aimed at finding lasting solutions to the persistent epileptic power supply affecting the region.
In attendance were Engr. Abiola Olowu, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as well as other top officials.
Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun expressed her optimism about the outcome of the meeting, saying, “The good people of Epe have endured years of power instability, but today, we are confident that with the support of the state government and Ikeja Electric, we will find a sustainable solution.”

Hon. Abiodun Tobun also emphasized the importance of the meeting. “Access to reliable electricity is critical to the development of our communities. We cannot afford to delay solutions any longer.
This meeting marks a significant step forward, and I believe positive changes will soon be felt across Epe and Ibeju Lekki,” he stated.
The Special Adviser on Energy, Engr. Olowu, reassured the stakeholders that the government is committed to resolving the issue.
“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration is fully aware of the power challenges faced by the residents of Epe and Ibeju Lekki.
We are determined to implement strategies that will ensure a stable and improved power supply,” he noted.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with all parties hopeful that the discussions would yield tangible outcomes that would benefit the residents of the affected areas.
