Epe LGA Boosts Resident Welfare with Social Programmes

Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, has launched a plethora of innovative welfare programmes that have brought joy and succour to the residents of Epe.

These initiatives aim to improve lives, provide a safety net for the vulnerable, and foster a sense of community.

During a recent press briefing, Animashaun showcased her administration’s remarkable achievements, highlighting the Epe Food Bank Initiative, which provides quarterly food supplies to over 5,000 low-income households, and the healthcare outreach programme, offering free medical services, screenings, and treatments to rural communities.

Empowerment schemes for residents have also been a focus, with skills training and entrepreneurship support provided to women, men, and young people, enabling them to become economically independent.

“Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty and enhance the overall well-being of our residents,” Animashaun explained.

The impact of these programmes has been profound, earning widespread recognition, awards, and acceptance across the state.

Animashaun’s administration has also provided practical skills training and empowerment for 500 participants, distributed farming tools to 200 farmers, and initiated the ‘Itoju Awon Agba Food/Health Package’ for the elderly, among other initiatives.

Furthermore, the Local Government has been recognized as a model for effective governance and social welfare provision, resulting in significant reductions in poverty, hunger, and health disparities.

Animashaun’s commitment to grassroots development has fostered a sense of community and social cohesion, with residents expressing gratitude and appreciation for the various programmes.

As a result, Animashaun has received numerous awards and invitations to share best practices at national and international forums.

With a promise to continue implementing effective, unconditional, and excellent humanitarian services, more palliative programmes are expected to be rolled out, further solidifying her administration’s commitment to ameliorating the economic challenges faced by the people of Epe.
