Epe Local Government Distributes Cash Grants to 2000 Vulnerable Households

Ekohotblog reports that Epe Local Government, led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, has distributed cash grants to 2,000 vulnerable households in the community.

The event, held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Epe Local Government Chamber, was purposely to help those in need during tough economic times.

The cash grants were shared equally among different wards in the local government, including A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, C1, and D1. Other groups such as market women from Oluwo, Ayetoro and other markets in the local government, the transporters’ union, the Aruwa community, and Ndigbo also received the support.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government Hon. Sikiru Owolomonshe gave important advice to the community.

He encouraged residents to speak up when they have concerns instead of criticizing the administration.

“If something doesn’t seem right, please tell us directly. It’s better to talk to us than to spread negative comments.

We are working hard to make things better for everyone, and your feedback can help us improve,” he said.

He said Hon. Surah also assured the public that the distribution was done without favoritism.

“She made sure the cash grants reached those who really need them.

This is our way of easing the burden many households are facing,” He explained.

Beneficiaries at the event expressed their appreciation.

Mrs. Funmilayo Adeoye, a market woman, said, “This money came at the perfect time. My business has been struggling, and this ₦10,000 support will really go a long way.

” Mr. Bode Fashola, a member of the transporters’ union, added, “The economy has not been smiling at all , and this grant will help many of to cover up some of our needs.”

The Vice Chairman closed by reassuring the community that the administration is always open to listening to their concerns and will continue to provide help where it is needed.

He also advise all to appreciate what is given to them no matter how little, noting that this will make the chairman happy to do more.

“When you appreciate someone’s effort no matter how small, the person will be eager to do more” He concluded
