Epe Local Government, under the leadership of Hon. Princess Olayemi Sura Animashaun, has embarked on a series of transformative projects aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the community.

Since their inauguration in 2021, the administration has prioritized sustainable development, community welfare, and cultural preservation.

During a recent facility tour, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe, highlighted the major achievements of the local government, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents. According to him, significant progress has been made in various sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

One of the notable accomplishments is the renovation of key administrative structures within the local government premises. Both the council and legislative chambers have undergone extensive refurbishment to improve functionality and provide a conducive working environment. In addition, the offices of the Chairman and Vice Chairman have been renovated to meet modern standards and facilitate efficient administration.

Infrastructure development has also been a major focus of the administration. Several roads have been constructed and equipped with solar-powered streetlights to enhance safety and improve nighttime visibility. This initiative aims to foster economic activities and ease transportation for residents and visitors alike.

In the education sector, the local government has provided well-furnished classroom blocks to create a better learning environment for students. Furthermore, to support aspiring educators, the administration has purchased registration forms for intending teachers in Epe, easing the financial burden and encouraging the pursuit of teaching careers.

Healthcare services have also received attention, with the local government providing wheelchairs to Epe General Hospital to aid patient mobility and improve healthcare delivery. In addition, there is an ongoing construction of a new health center to complement the existing Federal Medical Center, which will expand healthcare access for the growing population.

A highlight of the facility tour was a visit to the newly built museum and vocational center. This initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to preserving Epe’s rich cultural heritage while providing skill acquisition opportunities for residents. The museum aims to showcase the town’s historical artifacts and cultural identity, while the vocational center will equip residents with practical skills to enhance employment and entrepreneurship.

The administration is also undertaking the construction of staff quarters to provide comfortable accommodation for local government workers, ensuring their well-being and improving work efficiency. Additionally, plans are underway for the completion of a cinema hall and a larger museum, further promoting Epe’s cultural legacy and offering recreational opportunities for residents.

Hon. Owolonshe reiterated the administration’s dedication to delivering people-centered governance and sustainable development. “We remain committed to implementing projects that directly impact the lives of our people and position Epe as a model local government,” he stated.
