Delivering his address, Olu-Epe of Epe, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Shefiu Adewale, Bamgbopa Eshinlokun I, described the projects befitting and worth emulating.

“I am grateful to the facilitators of this project, the Thani-Oladunjoye family. This is the kind of people-oriented project that we want in our community. I’m excited that the historic project took place during my reign,” he said.

Olu-Epe further recalled the trademark spirit of altruism and benevolence inherent in the notable Thani family. This, His Royal Majesty revealed, through the support he got from both the Lagos State and Federal Government during his undergraduate days.

“When I was in the University, an Uncle named Thani of blessed memory was at the Lagos State Scholarship Board and also a member of Ogunmodede Club. He interviewed me for both State and Federal Scholarship during my University days in which I benefitted,” he said.

While he pleaded for conscious efforts by well-meaning individuals to take good care of the community, Olu-Epe prayed fervently for the sons and daughters of the town.

Also, the former Chairman of Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, LIRS, and Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Dr Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, took time to applaud the project, stating that such conception could only be well-thought-out by a benevolent soul.

“He has a heart that is benevolent to be able to do this. There are so many of our people both at home and in the Diaspora that the almighty God has richly blessed with millions and billions in Naira and Dollars and have never conceived this kind of idea. But when I approached this edifice this morning, It gladdens my heart and my spirit has been praying for Mr Tunde Thani,” Oba Ogunsanwo said.

Speaking further, Oba Ogunsanwo charged citizens of Epe in Diaspora with financial capacities running to millions and billions of Dollars and Naira to replicate in Epe community with the good facilities they see all over the place abroad.

“But the Almighty God has used our brothers to come and do this, particularly for the aged. Many of our aged have been dumped within our communities here and their children have sojourned to the city, forgetting them there, forgetting how they live. It is only during Easter, Christmas, New Year and Ileya that they come to see them.

“But our brother has deemed it fit to come and do this for the aged in our society and just like they have said, it is not only meant for the people in Epe axis here alone but the entire Division. My brother, we are very proud of you, we thank God for your life,” Alara said.

Oba Ogunsanwo afterwards prayed for the unity of purpose in Epe for the upliftment of the Division irrespective of class.

“Let us continue to stay united either as private individuals or Government officials to strive harder to uplift Epe Division. No one would carry our cross but ourselves and may God continue to help us,” Alara prayed.
