Epe Stakeholders Hail Gbajabiamila For Repair Of Epe-Ketu-Itoikin Road
A contingent of traditional rulers and political leaders in Epe Federal Constituency have expressed their unrestrained appreciation to the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila for his role in the reconstruction of the 18.3km Epe-Ketu-Itoikin Road.
In a letter dated December 17th, 2020, and presented before the speaker under the aegis of the office of Hon. Wale Raji, the eminent stakeholders of Epe Federal Constituency noted the neglect the road has suffered in recent years, despite its critical role in connecting important transportation routes.
The letter reads in part: “We the representatives of the good people of Epe Federal Constituency on this historic occasion (being the first of its kind) are here in a delegation made up of traditional Rulers and Political leaders of Epe Federal Constituency to Mr. Speaker, House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria in appreciation of your timely intervention in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the 18.3km Epe-Ketu-Itoikin Road, Lagos, which has been in a very deplorable state over the years”.
The stakeholders hailed the Speaker’s undying love for Lagos state and Epe Federal Constituency, which they cited as the motivating factor for his decision to rehabilitate the long abandoned road.
“There is no doubt that your intervention is as a result of your love for Lagos State and the good people of Epe Federal Constituency through the brotherly relationship that exists between you and our representative in the House in the person of Wale Raji (MHR). We seize this opportunity to appreciate you and pledge our support to your administration. This intervention will remain indelible in our hearts and we will always remember you in our prayers as you strive higher in your political career”.

They also drew the Speaker’s attention to the ongoing power project which commenced eight years ago in Epe Federal Constituency, asking him to use his good office and intervene swiftly towards the completion of the project.
“Mr. Speaker sir, let me draw your attention to the ongoing power project which started sometime in 2012 but has not recorded much progress as we would have expected in view of the epileptic power supply situation in Epe, which has affected the economic growth of the community. We seize this opportunity to seek your intervention towards the early completion of this project”.
The contingent also urged the Speaker to help facilitate more political appointments for the good people of Epe, whom they noted have been grossly under-represented with regard to federal appointments.
“Mr. Speaker, as you may be aware; the good people of Epe are grossly underrepresented in federal appointments. We seek your assistance in securing appointments for qualified indigenes of Epe Federal Constituency in federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDA’s)”.
They expressed their unbridled gratitude to the Speaker for all the good things he has done for Epe people, noting that he has registered his footprint in the history and development of Epe Federal Constituency and Lagos State at large.
