Epe Stakeholders Pay Tributes to Late Septuagenarian at Fidau Prayers

Members of foremost social club in Epe, the Epe club paid heartfelt tributes to Late Alhaji Monzur Taiwo Kadiri, PhD, a former Vice President of Epe Club, on the occasion of the 8th day fidau prayers of the deceased.

The event which was graced by notable individuals from all works of life took place at FAMCO Events Center, Epe. They include the Mogaji Ngeri of Epe Kingdom, Alhaji Adio Oduola, Olu-Epe’s wife, Olori Aribike Adewale, Associate Professor Nosiru Onibon, the Provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Fadeelatul Sheikh Alhaji Balogun, National Deputy Chief Imam, Zumuratul Islamiyyah Society of Nigeria, Fadeelatul Sheikh Alhaji Abiola Sadala, the Chief Imam of First Epe Central Mosque, Oke-Balogun.

Others were Alhaji Owolomoshe, Epe Local Government Vice Chairman, Engineer AbdulRasheed Shabi, Epe Club President, Engineer Bola Matanmi, General Manager, Lagos State Wastewater Agency, Barrister Tunde Seriki, Commissioner Lagos State Civil Service Commission, High Chief Wale Mogaji, Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Commission and Prince Biola Anifowose, Hon Dengel Anifowose and a host of others were present.

The Fidau prayer was co-anchored by Ulamas from First Epe Central Mosque and Zumuratul Islamiyyah Society of Nigeria members. Members of Epe Club and Epe Grammar School Old Students Association (EGOSA) and other associations came with their members to pay their last respect to the deceased.

During the event, Ekohotblog gathered that his first son, speaking on the personality of his late father described him as a community with stellar leadership qualities worthy of emulation.

Also, the sister of the deceased spoke of late Kadiri’s love and devotion for Epe Dvision. She told the gathering that it was because of him she usually visited Epe especially during Kayo-Kayo festivals.

Associate Professor Nosiru Onibon, the Provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education while speaking with Ekohotblog, noted that leaders like Dr Kadri left at a time the Epe community needs him most. He also prayed for his soul to rest in paradise.

Speaking with Ekohotblog, Alhaja Alade Olushola Raji, a member of Epe Grammar School Old Students Association, EGOSA, described late Dr Kadri as a goal-getter and bridge builder. She noted that the deceased during his lifetime contributed meaningfully to the academic emancipation of students in his Alumni.

Also, Epe Club President, Engineer AbdulRasheed Shabi, described the loss as colossal to the entire Epe Division. He particularly stated that it was just a year ago that the Club lost its President Emeritus, Chief Lanre Razak (KLM), who left the club members in a lurch and that of Dr Kadri, who was KLM’s Vice President, had dealt a major blow on the club. Engineer Shabi revealed that Dr Kadri’s wealth of experience, humility and noble approach to burning issues are second to none.

High Chief Adeniyi Kadri Odedeogboro, the Otun-Seriki of Epe Kingdom, said the vote of thanks on behalf of the deceased family.
