Epe Stallion Circle Club: Epitome Of Altruism, Benevolence
The Stallion Circle, Epe, Lagos state, as part of its humanitarian gesture, to lift the spirit of forlorn souls, in this gloomy period, has given stimulus package of cash donations to sixty residents of the iconic town.
The club said the gesture was part of its effort to ameliorate the biting effects of the lockdown imposed by government to contain the spread coronavirus.
On why the group chose cash donation as its form of palliatives and not food packages and other relief items, the president of the club, Mr. Lookman Idris, who spearheaded the donation, said the club decided on cash donation because other associations in the area had given out food and other items as palliatives.
He added that the cash would enable them to buy whatever it is they might find exigent.
He, however, averred that more areas would be covered in the future, noting that the package might be food items
Disclosing the member of community of who benefitted from the cash donation, Idris noted that it was targeted at the vulnerable, especially the aged, retired workers, widows, among others in the community.
Idris added that the beneficiaries, who were nominated by club members and some people in the community, spread across Okebalogun, Bado-Oke and Bado-Isale, Isale Agoro, Isale Ajao, Araromi, Oke-Owode, among others.
“We decided to give out cash because we realised that some associations in this community have given out food items like gari, rice and noodles, we just feel we should not do the same thing,” he stated.
One of the beneficiaries, a 60 year old man, expressed gratitude to the club for their kind-hearted gesture, adding that he was delighted by the fact that the club remember

He said “This shows that I am adding value to my community. The money is not even the issue here, being remembered and recognised gladdens my heart,” he said.
He also lauded the assidious and painstaking efforts of the state government in curtailing the spread of the virulent COVID-19.
He implored to members of the community not to treat the pandemic with scant regard and utter indifference, appealing to them comply fully strictly with all the measures put in place by the state to curtail its spread and defeat it.
For his part, the chairman of the palliative committee and former president of the club, Alhaji Moshood Odofin, appealed to other associations, corporate bodies and well-meaning community members in Epe and environs to emulate the gracious and good-natured disposition of Stallion Circle club and support the fight against COVID-19.
He enjoined them to rally round the state government in its battle against the disease and support the vulnerable so that the war against COVID-9 could be won as soon as possible.
